7th Annual Festival of Flowers Presents Flowers With A Sweet Twist

February 26, 2015 @ 4:30 pm - 5:00 pm

$50.00

The Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation promotes and only supports the mission of Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter through charitable gifts, events, and a perpetual endowment. The mission of the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation is to support a very special group of people who work together to ensure that the best quality of care is available to people in our community with life-limited illness and their families.

The foundation was founded shortly after the founding of the Lower Cape Fear Hospice agency. In 2005, the Trustees of the Endowment Fund decided they wanted to become more active and provide more support and reorganized to become the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation.

The Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation exists solely to raise the funds necessary to support the mission and work of Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter not covered by reimbursement sources and programs and services that do not have a reimbursement source.

Since being founded in 2005, the Foundation has raised nearly $2 million annually to support the ongoing operating needs to provide quality end of life hospice and palliative healthcare and LifeCareCenter programs, such as the bereavement program.

One of the many efforts to fund the Foundation is the Annual Festival of Flowers. The Seventh Annual Festival of Flowers has a unique twist this year. Through a partnership with One Belle Bakery, Ron Ben-Israel will demonstrate amazing ways to transform sugar into beautiful, edible flowers. If you’d like to see some of Ron’s work, please visit www.weddingcakes.com.

About Ron Ben-Israel:

A former dancer, Ben-Israel fell in love with a chocolate-maker while on tour in Canada and later traded his ballet slippers for a whisk and a spatula. The discipline he acquired during his years of dance training and his performance schedule helped him as he pursued his new vocation. He traveled to France and apprenticed in Cannes, Beaujolais and Lyons.Ultimately, New York provided Ben-Israel with the most exhilarating and challenging stage for his culinary visions. According to Ben-Israel’s bio on his websitewww.weddingcakes.com, in less than a decade, his artistry has become legendary and he has become known as America’s cake maestro.

Ben-Israel has appeared on “Oprah Winfrey,” “Martha Stewart Living” and “The Late Show with David Letterman.” His specialty and wedding creations are often featured in national publications, including Town & Country and New York Magazine, and have been prominently highlighted in books such as “Vera Wang on Weddings.”
