Seasonal Colors for a Wedding

Choosing a wedding date is one of the largest decisions a bride could make. But one of the most important details that wedding patrons may fail to realize is the choice of seasonal colors incorporated into the wedding itself. In this blog we’ll explore some of the reigning color themes of today’s weddings.

Spring (March and April)

So long as it’s not too cold (unlikely, this is Wilmington we’re talking about!), having a wedding in Spring can help to usher in feelings of warmth and the budding beauty of a new marriage. Naturally, the spring season is associated with spring flowers such as lilies, daffodils, and daisies. Because of this, weddings during this season can comfortably incorporate pastel colors like lavender or yellow. Also the more vibrant colors of red and pink can help sprinkle the wedding landscape.

Summer (May, June, July and August)

Summer is a time of excitement and activity. Because of this, a summer bride will find brightest and energizing colors a great fit for their wedding. Colors can include hot pink, green and fuchsia to work well in these conditions.

Fall (September, October and November)

Fall is considered one of the most colorful seasons of the year. The cold, crisp air ushers in the vibrant color of changing leaves on a tree. August colors our typically work – like orange, red, yellow and brown.

Winter (December, January and February)

Winter is associated with clean whites and deep reds. A bride will find these colors to match well with the cheer the winter season has. If the wedding is close to Christmas, perhaps green and red could be paired.
